Complementary Wellness Practices

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)

Tapping & Energy Techniques

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), sometimes referred to as tapping, are complementary mind-body techniques that combine focused attention, cognitive elements, and gentle tapping on designated points on the body.

Our therapists have completed EFT Professional Skills 1 and 2 training through the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP).

EFT and other energy-based techniques are offered as complementary wellness practices that may support relaxation, self-reflection, mindfulness, and personal well-being. Research has explored EFT in relation to stress, anxiety, emotional well-being, and other areas of psychological functioning. These practices are not presented as a substitute for medical, psychiatric, or mental health treatment.

What to Expect

EFT and energy techniques may involve identifying an area of personal focus, using guided attention and tapping or other techniques, and reflecting on the experience. Sessions are individualized based on the client’s preferences and goals.

EFT or other energy techniques may also be incorporated into psychotherapy when clinically appropriate and consistent with the client’s treatment goals. When these techniques are used as part of a psychotherapy session, the service remains psychotherapy and is provided, documented, and billed according to applicable professional, clinical, insurance, and billing requirements.

No particular outcome is promised or guaranteed.

REIKI

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive complementary wellness and spiritual practice that may provide an opportunity for relaxation, mindfulness, reflection, and personal well-being.
Reiki is traditionally understood as a practice involving intention and life-force energy. Concepts such as energy, chakras, and the aura are part of spiritual and cultural traditions and are not presented as medical or scientific concepts.
Reiki sessions are intended to provide a supportive space for relaxation and personal reflection and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent medical or mental health conditions.

Remote Reiki

Remote Reiki allows you to participate in a Reiki session from the comfort of your own space. The practice is offered according to traditional Reiki principles of intention and energy.

Important Information

Complementary wellness services are separate from psychotherapy and mental health counseling when provided as standalone services. EFT, energy techniques, and Reiki are offered as complementary wellness practices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or mental health condition.

These services should not be used as a substitute for appropriate medical, psychiatric, or mental health care. Clients seeking treatment for a mental health condition should discuss their needs with an appropriately licensed healthcare or mental health professional.

Participation in complementary wellness services is voluntary and is not a condition of receiving psychotherapy or mental health counseling services.

Insurance and Payment

Coverage varies by service, health plan, and the circumstances under which a service is provided. Standalone complementary wellness services may be offered separately from psychotherapy and may be provided on a private-pay basis. Clients are encouraged to contact their insurance plan directly with questions regarding coverage.

When EFT or another complementary technique is incorporated into a psychotherapy session, the psychotherapy service is subject to applicable clinical, professional, insurance, and billing requirements. Coverage and reimbursement are determined by the applicable health plan and the circumstances of the service provided.
